This patch in metacity source http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu- branches/ubuntu/oneiric/metacity/oneiric/view/head:/debian/patches/100_fade_on_long_title.patch is after which the problem was first sighted, I am not sure if its specific to nouvea as I am certain i saw it on a non-nvidia system
