I have ibus enabled with Chinese PIN YIN Input Method, and seldom use it. Just ibus running in background causes the issue. When the bug occur, desktop items disappear, Unity launcher behave erratically and CPU usage stays at 100% for ibus-daemon process. After a while, python goes to 100% as well and stays there for some time. To make desktop become normal, have to logoff/login again. simone@simone-ThinkPad-T400:~$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 11.10 Release: 11.10 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 Package: ibus 1.3.99.20110419-1ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-13.22-generic 3.0.6 Uname: Linux 3.0.0-13-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu4 Architecture: amd64 Date: Thu Nov 24 12:08:01 2011 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" - Release amd64 (20111012) ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: ibus UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ibus/+bug/894242/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
