Thanks for your bug report. Since this is a problem concerning an upgrade, I'll target this to update-manager. Could you please attach the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/? They will be helpful in determining what went wrong. Also, if you received an error message before the upgrade process halts/crashes, please list them as well.
