I installed from the Firefox "Help" site. When I typed "About" Firefox advised that a new version was available. I downloaded the .tar.gz file, unpacked it but after extraction,the original Ver 3 showed up. Only Peppermint upgraded to 9 Thanks John On Fri, 2011-12-23 at 23:16 +, Daniel Man

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Could you detail the steps you followed to install Firefox 9? You may have installed from a .tar.gz, the Firefox site makes 9.0.1 available in that format for Linux. However, .tar.gz packages are not handled by Ub
