I installed Ubuntu 12-04 LTS (beta) to check if a later version of evolution
solved this.
Unfortunately no! one time I got a pop-up for a birthday, and it was gone by
the next
boot!?
I like the look and feel of evolution and very much like this potential very
useful option fixed.

In the
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
