Posting this to the dev list for those that may not follow github issues closely and so that this has a wider circulation.
If anyone wants to chime in, there has been a list of candidate names for renaming the Master process created as issue https://github.com/apache/accumulo/issues/1638. Currently, there is a comment for each of the currently suggested names so you can give a thumbs-up for the name(s) that you prefer. The goal is to see if any of the names have a consensus. If your preference is a name not on the list, please create a separate comment in the same format to add it to the list. After this we can assess where we stand and then begin a more official process.
