I know I'm late to this discussion, but I wanted to throw my 2 cents
in. I do not see the value in enforcing valid URIs within Camel. I
fully agree that, in this case, ease of use trumps strictly adhering to
a standard.

I updated the Camel in Action source (rev 334 - the last one before it was
upgraded to 2.9.0) to work with Camel 2.8.6 and all test except the TX
tests passed (they failed on my machine also for previous Camel 2.8.x
releases). No problem with this.
