I think it is.
I know there are some project[1] which integrate the lua within nginx.
It's kind of hot :)
But before we provide the support of it in Camel, we need to find a Java
implementation of it.

- add missing features to Karaf WebConsole
- provide better documentation (for users and developers)
- make it as easy as possible to install it
- and whatever you can do to improve Karaf WebConsole.

I also do not see any issues with this announcement on the dev@ Camel
mailing list.
This announcement is relevant for the Camel users as it offers a awesome
management user interface for Camel (and other frameworks/technologies).
Even better, this product is also open source under Apach
+1 for removing it completely.
As Hadrian said, we (the Camel project itself) should focus on the server
side technology that we do so well.
Other projects like Karaf WebConsole, Hawt.io, Camelwatch, ... are better
places to provide this kind of management functionality via a
gui/console/... Afte
We have a need for such functionality at work.
But it would need to use a business-friendly license.
Would also need support for packed EBCDIC format.
Could possible chip in on this if that was the case.

right thing instead of creating a "full blown" Camel component.
We COULD add this new data format to Camel, if you want to donate the Camel
data format. But, ...
What concerns me a bit is, that you are the only one member

For Spring we have a broad version range:
org.springframework.transaction;version="[3.0,4)" for camel-extra-2.10.x
and [3.1,4) on trunk.
In Apache Camel we set it to [3.0,3.3) for Camel 2.11. We should use the
same version range here.
But go ahead with the camel-extra-2.10.
