If we're still on time I'd like to tentatively include this patch to
Opentelemetry [1]. If anybody can have a quick look it would be nice to
have to patch certain behaviors and then we can continue the work to have a
final solution with more time.

Okay so the main branches are ready for cutting 4.9.0 release.
The 4.8.x branch needs a bit more work which we will get ready by tomorrow.
So Gregor you are welcome to go ahead with the 4.9.0 release, thank you.

Great let me spend today getting the branches ready, as we should get both
4.8.2 and 4.9.0 released.
