Late reply here. Great to hear there might be some progress. If CouchDB wants 
to profile itself for fault tolerance/scalable it should be easy to deploy on 
multiple servers. A deb package makes that a breeze. Basho's riak has succeeded 
very well in that matter.

That said, I would love to help out. I am newcomer when it comes to deb package 
building, but will gladly test and maybe submit simple patches. Robert, is it 
possible to fork your deb somehow? Can issues be reported somewhere?
