Very well thought out appraisal Carsten
I'd vote for the "keep as is" on the full vs light aspect, but that's largely
because I'm lazy and it offers least impact in our own app. Would understand if
others/consensus feels it better to revise this aspect of the bundling.

I think its time to discuss updating our http jetty implementation which
is currently based on Jetty 9 supporting Servlet API 3.x.
As you know, the java ee specifications have moved to the Eclipse
Jakarta Project. The latest Servlet API 5 - while it is feature
compatible with version 4 -
