Yes I can see users wanting to install Flex Unit (or Tour De Flex) as an

Strangely enough no - I guess it could be reporting the wrong error?
Justin
I tried twice and both times failed on the Jburg checksum because the
installer is going to get an html file instead of the jar. Was that one
of the more common failures?

This is the same downloads.soureforge.net problem. Running from ant

Hi,
Tour de flex is coming up on it 10,000 views and the download page viewed 1000

Hi,
Over the last month we've had more than 1000 errors trying to download osmf,

Hi,
Installing FlexJS is currently giving a 100% error rate. 30 failures out of 30

error is most common (11 out of 30).

The rate is now done to 100-150/day which is still high but not 450+/day it

Hi,
I been looking at adding Flex Unit to the installer and it occurred to me that
we may want to add it in two places.
1. As a stand alone product (ie shows in first list along with the various SDKS)
2. As an optional part of installing an SDK
1 makes sense if you have already installed the SDK
Hi,
My understating of bundling category B software is that it OK to include the
binary, and you only need to prompt the user to download the source. [1] So
what we are doing goes beyond what is the minimal legal requirement. Do you

The set of required and optional steps for new installs is determined by a
config file. The FlexJS install, for example, doesn’t offer or install
OSMF. I think we can control everything from the config file and
installer.xml, which would be desirable for our Linux users anyway.

Is it possible to stop OSMF download by just changing the installer.xml?

Why do we need to change the installer? What part can’t be done in the

I think just for future. This requires a change to both the SDK (release
build script) as well as the Installer.

No particular objection. Are you suggesting we go back and re-release all

I¹m not sure OSMF is the main culprit for failed downloads. AIR was more
likely to choke for me in recent testing.

How about we download the OSMF swc during the release build stage and
