Kostas et al,
Thanks for all your encouragement.
I will definitely be interested to join in.
I will check first with my supervisors at INRIA and confirm my presence.
In any case, I look forward to hearing / reading the outcomes of the
discussions.
Best!

Please vote on which style of Flink's squirrel logo should be used for
Flink's website and other public accounts (e.g., Twitter).
The logo comes in three styles:
- COLORED (in Apache colors)
- WHITE (white logo on dark backgrounds)
- OUTLINED (black outlines)
The alternative styles can be checked
Is this going to be a vote whether we want to put out a logo before we did
a vote? ;-)
Why not simply wait another 72h and have a community decision? After
several months without a logo, three days should be OK.
I'm going to open a vote for the preferred style of Linda's logo now.

+1 to put the Logo out immediately. There seems to be consensus on using
Linda's logo.
We can have a vote on the exact variants for the different places and then
change the logo-variant once the vote is over.

OK, Fabian, would you like to start the vote?
Is it OK if we put a logo up in the website and twitter while the vote is
running and change it later when we know the result of the vote? I'm really
eager to show the world at least one of our logos :-)

Since there are different versions and people had different preferences,
I'd welcome a vote on which version (colored, white, outlined) should be
used for the website and other public accounts.

Hello,
We had a discussion yesterday at SICS with Martin Neumann regarding newcomers
and development groups. Even though the stream and graph teams solely will
focus on “core” prototypes and ideas it would be nice to have a small workshop
for newcomers as well. Having newcomers in the core gro

I'm going to post a vote on the general@incubator list.

This is definitely not an event only for thinking giants because than probably
not many people would show up :)

Hello,
We are starting to work with Flink (since 0.5.2) for realising some use cases
at INRIA.
Both the topics suggested are definitely of immediate interest in our work.
My initial question:
Is this an event for "thinking giants" only?
OR are small novices (like me) allowed to "watch in" ?
Does anybody want to have a formal [VOTE] on the logo?
I have the impression that everybody likes it very much so its probably not
necessary to vote.
If nobody disagrees, I'll put the logo on Twitter and into the "Material"
section (http://flink.incubator.apache.org/material.html) on the website.
