What about moving applications into its own source tree?

Logging left 1.1 branch for Spring Break

So I got 1.1 to build and start, but there's no logging. As in, no log file is created, and there's no Log4J console log output (only regular stack traces). If someone could look into that it would be great. Thanks, Aaron
