The issue is about moving replication queue storage from zookeeper to a
hbase table. As discussed many times before, the most difficult thing here
is the cyclic dependencies between the WAL system and replication system.
And in HBASE-27109 we finally solved the problem, by delaying the update to

Just a heads up that in HBASE-27110, we have implemented a new file system
based replication peer storage, and we have also implemented a migration
tool, as well as other infrastructures like new shell commands, to support
migrating replication peer storage online.
This feature is also backported

Heya,
For folks interested in HBase on Kubernetes, and storage in CNCF more
broadly, the CNCF has a technical advisory group ("TAG") focused on storage
[0]. They meet twice each month, the next call being tomorrow, 26 April.
I don't yet know the nature of the calls. I had some discussions about
OK, looks like we still want to keep the current way.
I will include this in the next board report.
