Not sure what is MVS, but considering it some sort of database, as long as
ports are open/ACL's are established, using sqoop to have data on hdfs is
easy as a command -
sqoop import -D mapred.job.queue.name= --connect
jdbc:oracle:thin:@//:1521/ --username
--table --target-dir
--passwo
