Indeed it is closely related to this project.
This whitepaper is from the influxDB guys.
I took the time to check it out and quickly skip over it, and my short summary
is not worth the time :D
It states some things which can already be seen on their homepage
Maybe the project can reach out to the author and make them aware of
Apache IoTDB!
