I feel JPA compliance is the right direction and is an useful extension. The
hard work is already done through the OCM layer. We need to evaluate whether
an EntityManager using OCM to expose JCR is the right approach. Incidently on
yesterday's lazy sunay afternoon I started writing a Jpa4Jcr API layer. My
strategy is to use OCM as the first cut implementation and then evaluate the
performance. As you have rightly pointed out Query mapping is going to be the
most crucial aspect.
