Update ruby_test tests and incorporate changes into build

Fix For: JRuby 1.1.6
We already run a number of Daniel Berger's test from "ruby_test" but we have
not updated them in a long time. In particular, a few broken "select" cases
would have been found if we were up to date (see JRUBY-3045). We need to update
the tests, and if possible implement a plan for keeping them up-to-date (though
for purposes of this bug, at least get them updated).
