Scott Smerchek created LUCENE-4249: -------------------------------------- Summary: The PayloadTermWeight explanation hides the details of the payload score Key: LUCENE-4249 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LUCENE-4249 Project: Lucene - Core Issue Type: Improvement Components: core/search Affects Versions: 4.0-ALPHA Reporter: Scott Smerchek Priority: Trivial Fix For: 4.0
I'm using the PayloadTermQuery and scoring documents using a custom algorithm based on the payloads of the matching terms. The algorithm is implemented in the custom PayloadFunction and I have added an Override for the explain. However, the PayloadTermWeight explanation hides the details of the payload score... {code} Explanation payloadExpl = new Explanation(scorer.getPayloadScore(), "scorePayload(...)"); {code} This is different than the way that PayloadNearSpanWeight explains the payload. It actually asks the payload function for the explanation rather than hiding it: {code} Explanation payloadExpl = function.explain(doc, scorer.payloadsSeen, scorer.payloadScore); {code} -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA.
