Hi,

You might already have noticed from mails about Jenkins failures: I changed
Policeman Jenkins to use TLS encryption, old plain URLs are redirected. Thanks
to LetsEncrypt (https://letsencrypt.org/), this is now possible without any
cost and very easy to set up by scripting. Although certificates are only valid
for 90 days, the renewal process can be done automatically through a new
protocol invented by them. It is just a cronjob running every day that checks
for certificates to expire and triggers a renewal one month before end date and
restarts the Apache Server or Mail server. If you are interested about the
setup, please contact me (as I cannot use the LetsEncrypt Apache Webserver
plugin, because the certificates are also used for mail server).

The new URL of Policeman Jenkins is now: https://jenkins.thetaphi.de/ - As we
are now more secure, I'd suggest to everybody to change his/her password on
Policeman Jenkins, if you ever logged in.

I also changed most of my company's web pages
(https://www.sd-datasolutions.de/), private pages, and the mailserver to use
such a certificate, so many thanks to LetsEncrypt for providing the service!
The TLS encryption was deployed to 3 of my servers now (with almost same setup).

Uwe
