It is marked as "retired", yet it is still available for resolution through
regular dependency declarations. Bug reports are referred to JIRA on
Codehaus (RIP).
Can we get https://github.com/apache/maven-idea-plugin 1) setup, 2) the GH
issue
OK I'll shut up then. While I might hope for a slim front-end-only
read-only UI for 'central' it's compete with Nexus, which Sonatype sell, so
asking them to host something (that I could write solo) would be beyond
cheeky.

Fyi the URL repo.maven.apache.org points to the same hosts as repo
repo1.maven.org, which are all running on the Sonatype-sponsored
infrastructure. More detail and such are at

In the (unlikely) event that sonatype ceases to provide the service this
would allow us to move to another provider, but there would be a lot of
work establishing content routes to publish to central in that event.

My bad - I'll explain more fully - I'm thinking of a read-only interface
for querying the data within a maven repo. I'm thinking of something that
is entirely static. Specifically it would use JavaScript Angular/React/Vue

I am looking into a good base image for solaris-11
