Of course this means that the maven team is imposing their idea of good
process on the other apache projects like tapestry which was also impacted
by this ...
I could understand this if the release occurs. (i.e. if 2.2 is released then
the 2.2-SNAPSHOT could be reasonably expected to be discarded)
I like this Idea. A related need is commenting what services the
dependencies provide. What does 'jaxen', 'jdom', etc. provide to the
codebase? it would be good if there was a standard method by which
dependencies could describe themselves. So in addition to the jar,
licenses, and pom informati
e behaviours
on the resources elements.
Having multiple maven.war.src is less intrusive and still works, but
I'd prefer not to add features like this when you can simply do the
copying to maven.war.webapp.dir yourself.
