[ http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNG-1410?page=all ] Kenney Westerhof closed MNG-1410: ---------------------------------
Resolution: Won't Fix Sorry, but this is desired & designed behaviour. If maven2 doesn't see your project in the reactor (i.e. a pom with -SNAPSHOT version), and it's using a downloaded snapshot, that means you don't have the exact sourcecode available in your reactor to reproduce that snapshot artifact. If you were to have: a) A dependency on that project with the exact same timestamped snapshot version, and b) a project in the source tree with a pom that has the exact same timestamped snapshot version in the pom.xml (which will never happen!) THEN you would get that project as a project reference. Project references are only useful if you are using that exact same code, meaning, the exact same version! So usually you do a checkout of such a project, m2 install it, and then you can have a project reference for it in eclipse since the versions are exactly the same. > Timestamped snapshot dependencies added as file refs rather than project refs > ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: MNG-1410 > URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNG-1410 > Project: Maven 2 > Type: Bug > Components: maven-eclipse-plugin > Versions: 2.0.1 > Environment: Windows XP, Cygwin > Reporter: Mark Hobson > > > If eclipse:eclipse is executed in a reactor build, any snapshot dependencies > that have a timestamped jar (e.g. downloaded from continuum) are added to the > .classpath as jar file references rather than project references. > I've tracked this down to EclipseUtils.findReactorProject() where the g:a:v > comparision is failing between the reactor projects' version (<v>-SNAPSHOT) > and the artifact version (<v>-<timestamp>). -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://jira.codehaus.org/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
