From what I can tell, the main reason to use XPP3 was the memory leak.
I think there are bigger issues on that front:
- PluginManager caches plugins on a per project

what's the justification for not using JAXP?
AFAIK ant also uses JAXP to locate its xerces parser, so as soon as any plugins fire
up it will be sucked down anyway.

Doesn't jelly use jaxp to determine it's sax parser?
