Thanks Geertjan. I was able to implement braces matching. I was hoping to get
automatic brace completion working as well.

Exactly. I have NB10 with built in PHP 7.3 in production on my Ubuntu
18.04 workstation since over a month now and am surprised how flawless
it's working already.
I wanted to help Junichi and file some bugs if I find one, but I haven't.
