Despite what apple claimed, OS X 10.6 was a major change that flipped the default toolchain to making 64-bit (amd64) binaries by default instead of 32-bit (i386) binaries. pkgsrc (www.pkgsrc.org) recently added support to force 32-bit mode. It may be that you are having a mix of 32 and 64. pg
