Hi, I'm thinking since some time about criteria and an algorithm to find 'Areas of Interest' in OpenStreetMap data (aka "action around you" [1]). Of course, this should be better and more objective than G* Maps [2][3] ;-).
Any ideas? :Stefan [1] "Discover the action around you with the updated Google Maps", posted 25-07-2016. https://blog.google/products/maps/discover-action-around-you-with-updated/ [2] "The Problem With 'Areas of Interest' on Google Maps", posted 2016-08-02. https://www.citylab.com/design/2016/08/google-maps-areas-of-interest/493670/ [3] "Google Maps update decides which areas are ”of interest” for users", posted 2016-08-31. https://searchenginewatch.com/2016/08/31/google-maps-update-decides-which-areas-are-of-interest-for-users/ _______________________________________________ dev mailing list dev@openstreetmap.org https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/dev
