Hi,
it took more time than expected to get the release candidate out of the door due
to some
svn issues with the new dist repo.

Tim has now done the tests. My comments can be seen in TIKA-1442 and in
the excel file I uploaded. There is no "big, stinky" problem like the
one that exists in 1.8.7. There are only smaller problems compared to
1.8.6 and many improvements (as Tim said "It looks like there are only a
few regres

Hi Tim,
Could you please do, if your time allows it, the following mass tests:
1. 1.8.6 vs. 1.8.8 sequential parser (as you already did before), if
possible, include the comments I made last time.
2. 1.8.8. sequential vs non-sequential parser, Andreas has made a lot
of improvements.

I haven't asked him to do these tests yet, because so much work was done
on both parsers.

Looks like I
+1
We should ask Tim Allison for another 1.8.6 vs 1.8.8 test run shortly
before the release and after that not make any changes in the parser
until release.
(not 1.8.7, because that version has a very nasty regression related to
inline image parsing)
Btw I believe that there are still two
+1 - I'll open an issue to fix Checkstyle errors in 1.8 but that will be
resolved by next week.

Hi,
there are again a number of solved issues and I'm thinking about a new
bugfix release. How about a new one next week, maybe later if someone
wants to get some addtional things done before?
WDYT?
