struts now uses common lang3, you should a) update your reference to the
latest lang version b) include common lang 2 dependency (no risk of
conflict, they can live together)

I just make a quick test with some apps and all running fine and like
expected.
After that I try the archetypes again with following command:
mvn archetype:generate -B -DgroupId=com.mycompany.mysystem
