web project. I really appreciate your help on this one..

Yeah... exactly, very good point! So I think, we should call them
'struts-examples' and migrated it as a standalone project but under
Struts team umbrella.

If we make the examples part of Struts main then would a person need to
clone down the entire Struts source code in order to have the examples?
That might be a bit too much.
