That class is "shaded" in from commons-lang when xwork is built. If
you are getting symbol not found errors, then the problem is most
likely that you are using a bad build of xwork (there were a few
recently), or your project is setup with invalid jars (struts 2.1.2
with xwork 2.1.5-SNAPSHOT for example). Struts and xwork jars need to
be matched up by release, not by version number. The easiest non-maven
way to match them up is to grab one of the zips from the download site
and look at which versions were being used together. Another choice is
to use Maven, or at least learn enough about maven to be able to use a
site like jarvana.com to see which jars depend on which versions of
other jars.
