I actually plan to switch, but did not have the time to get into surf yet.
But still it is not an firefox issue which replaces the second dwm view.
It is merely firefox which revealed the issue to me.

So is there a reason for the default behaviour?
I searched through the thread which introduced it but did not find any
comment on this specific line and would like to get my patch upstream.

a month ago i started using dwm.
In my rules i send firefox clients to tag 2.
Now, after starting dwm i am on tag 1 and after i started firefox via
dmenu, i automatically get switched to tag 2.
