James E. King, III commented on THRIFT-4139:
--------------------------------------------

This happens on clang specifically.

I'm going to add a cmake directive to squelch it as part of THRIFT-4165, where
I'm upping the minimum required cmake version to 3.1 to properly support
CMAKE_CXX_STANDARD.

There will be separate efforts to build successfully with {{-std=c++14}} or
{{-std=c++17}} in the future.

If you want to address it separately, add this to the end of
DefinePlatformSpecific.cmake:
{noformat}
if (CMAKE_CXX_COMPILER_ID MATCHES "Clang")
  set(CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS "${CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS} -Wno-deprecated-register")
endif()
{noformat}
