Jukka Zitting updated TIKA-628: ------------------------------- Attachment: TIKA-628.patch As a first step I'd simply make the runnable tika-app jar available as a direct download from the download page. To do this we can take the already released tika-app-0.9.jar from Maven central, put it in the dist folder, and apply the attached patch. I suppose no new release vote is needed since no bits are changed. Unless anyone sees problems with this I'll make the changes tomorrow. > Binary distribution for releases > -------------------------------- > > Key: TIKA-628 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TIKA-628 > Project: Tika > Issue Type: Improvement > Components: packaging > Affects Versions: 0.9 > Reporter: Nick Burch > Priority: Minor > Attachments: TIKA-628.patch > > > At the moment, we don't produce a binary distribution, only a source one. As > discussed on the mailing list a few times, I think we should change this. > I'd suggest that we build a binary package that contains: > * tika-app, tika-parsers and tika-core jar files > * javadocs > * a directory with all the dependencies in it (likely the same list as used > in the tika bundle) > This would allow non maven users to quickly get started with using Tika. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA.
