I recently was made aware (from Richard's recent dev mail post) that the asf is now using "slack" - the messaging system.
I signed up ( see https://the-asf.slack.com , and see below the sign-in, the line which says If you have an *@apache.org* email address, you can create an account <https://the-asf.slack.com/signup/>. -Marshall (thanks again to Richard...)
