Last week the FxA team shipped train-99 to production, and these were some
of the highlights:
Connect Another Device via SMS

For some time now we've been experimenting with an SMS-based setup flow,
where users who sign in to sync on their desktop device can send themselves
an SMS to get Firefox on their mobile. It's been quite successful so we're
now in the process of consolidating those wins and rolling it out more
broadly:

All SMS messages will now include a special token that deep-links the
user into the sync sign-in screen when they launch Firefox for the first
time, and pre-fill their email address.

The feature is now available to 50% of users in Romania.

The feature is now available in Germany and Austria for initial
testing; if you happen to be in Germany or Austria and would like to help
us test it, please reach out!
Metrics Improvements

We now track country and region information for all metrics events sent
in to Amplitude, giving us the ability to quickly segment usage and
retention metrics by geography.

We have a shiny new "performance metrics" dashboard, to get some
insights into how user's perceived performance of FxA influences their
behaviour.

The initial results are important, if not exactly surprising: users for
whom the site loads faster, are significantly more likely to be successful
at signing in to Sync.
Since this was our last release before the launch of Firefox Quantum, we
also took the opportunity to do one last pass through our visual style and
fix up some lingering issues and inconsistencies.
