OK, Here are the results. Better late than never. Although the list has 265 members, I received replies from only 7 individuals, by both private email and email to the list. 6 of the 7 thought all HITB posts were spam. One wrote that the actual conference announcements were OK, but the rest of the HITB postings were spam. So, I have set the moderation flag on the email address from which those postings came. This may or may not have any effect, depending on whether the postings originate by email or by NNTP (news group posting). The former are filtered. The latter, alas ... Time will tell if this is effective or not.
