Actually I've found that my ringtones didnt work for some other
reasons. DCS Value of 0x04 definitively work so it was false alarm.
While debugging this and playing with various options, I've seen the
following errors coming back on my EMI/UCP link. I documen them here
for reference.

Thanks a lot Gus for your help about that. I was wondering if there could be
a better way to make openssl working with Redhat automatically without
having to modify Makefile after each new ./configure :
- force openssl to compile to a dynamic (.so) library on Redhat. How could
we do that ? BTW, I

I'm checking it now.
04 is 8 bit encoding, but emi2 doesn't need to set dcs because it has a
binary field of it own (the "4")
Anyway, even if 8 bit dcs is redudant, it shouldn't be an error.
I'll say something soon

0.9.6b is a beta release, and as such it compiles to a static (.a) libary
rather than a dynamic (.so) library. Kannel's makefile is set up
Andreas, do you mean that when sending a ringtone, I should not see the DCS
information (020104) in XSer part of the O/51 paquet ?
To help people who works on the development of emi2, I attached the diff
between the sources of smsc_emi2.c with the CVS version for which ringtones
work and the one
Thanks, Anyone here knows the diagram of a DLR-3P cable as i find it hard to look

no thats not it. The DCS value is NOT part of the UDH, its part of a
EMI/U
The length is incorrect in the second one (01070605041581020104).
The 020104 is not included in the length of the udh. Could it be that
these three bytes is appended after the length is calculated?
/Christian.
