I do not see any wrong values here: data_coding = 0x04 (binary) , so we do not
convert msgdata at all... I see only that this ISO-XXX part was sent through
sendsms interface, see initial post:

attached you can find patch that adds imo better gethostbyname_r detection.
This should work on cygwin and also freebsd better as we now have in cvs.
Please cygwin and freebsd/openbsd/*bsd people, test it!
