I have a release proposition, to be done ASAP:
* release current CVS as 1.4.0 (ChangeLog seems to be mainly fixes)
* then (after one week or so) release CVS as 1.5.0, I will add my
bearerbox-ack -patch to CVS before this release, possible add
other patches lying around to it, too

To help you understand what's actually going on we a lot
more information. You claim that there is a HTTPError message.
There are a lot of possible HTTP errors. Could you be just
a little bit more verbose. Saying It doesn't work, what's wrong?
is simply not enough.

I've just tried applying the patch against the latest CVS. As I'm using
Postgresql for sqlbox, I configured with --enable-pgsql. However, when I
try to compile, it complains like hell. See below..
