I suspect there is a problem with the install of gcc-c++. I tried to remove and reinstall gcc-c++ and got errors. When I do a yum check I get the following message: 1:NetworkManager-0.9.9.0-41.git20131003.fc20.x86_64 is a duplicate with 1:NetworkManager-0.9.9.0-39.git20131003.fc20.x86_64

Thanks Alec: I was using the executable g++ which was installed by the gcc-c++ package, so the gcc-c++ package was installed on the Fedora 20 system. Your comment about locate cc1plus was a big help. If I add /usr/libexec/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/4.8.2 to my execution path, then the
