I'm using a small script to take snapshots with an OLPC every 30 seconds using a gstreamer command line. The wiki (http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Programming_the_camera) lists the following as one method of doing this. gst-launch-0.10 v4l2src ! ffmpegcolorspace ! pngenc ! filesink location=foo.png

Forgive the question. I've been digging through laptop.org and fedora wikis, forums and dev lists for this answer and cannot seem to find it. I have a first gen XO (G1G1) and want to install the current stable OS on it. The one it has now was released before the divorce of OLPC and Sugar Labs.

AFAIK, there is not a mechanism in ASLO to replace the updater yet. Something to think about. But it may make more sense in the long run to have individual organizations maintain lists that point to the proper versions of activities that they want included/updated rather than centralizing it on WLO
