I thought the reason we have this change at the moment is that we have
tracked the change done by Sugar development upstream, between 0.82 and
0.84 ... and we have chosen not to merge the XO-1 specific changes we
did for 0.82.
Today during a simulated training and assessment (for my training

I believe these tickets deal with the consequences of having long
*names* for systems, rather than with whether ad-hoc networks *can* be
created on the XO-1.5.

Hi John,
Last night, with the help of James Cameron on irc, I managed to update the
firmware to q3a18 and the software to build 54. He did a superb job of walking
me through the process.
All seems to be working fine with the expected bugs (no camera yet). Now I just

Hi...
Thanks to the patience of James Cameron on IRC last night (probably morning for
him), I now have the XO-1.5 B machine Adam sent all updated to the latest
firmware (q3a18) and software (54) builds.
Are there specific things I should test or should I just "play" until I "break"
something?

Daniel,
Since we've run into problems with creating ad-hocs networks on the XO
1.5 (1) (2), I've been thinking about this functionality, the change
in UI behavior and perhaps the decrease in usability and I don't like
it. I believe it is clunky to have children create their own
networks..W

In the sugar environment we have the great resource of activities.sugarlabs.org
that children can browse through to add new activities. However, on
the Gnome side of things we only have the yum terminal commands. While
I realize children can add, remove, and install programs using such

Hi everyone,
We're testing how much performance you gain by swapping to an sd card.
The first thing we need to do is to compare the performance between a
regular XO 1.0 (no swapping) and one which swaps to an SD card.
The other thing is to measure how long an SD lasts if used that way.
So long,
I see. Thanks for your input.
Best regards,

Depends on how they measured it. Some mfgs will give you Wh for the
cell in the specs but most just give you mAh. mAh is easier to compute.
