How's the battery life on the 1.75 going for Read, web browsing &
suspend? (3 of the most important functions) Anyone doing tests on
these yet?

How about compatibility with FOSS dev tools since it's ARM & a number

Just reporting in. Just getting back into XO dev. Recently upgraded to
11.3.0 on the XO-1. Spent the entire weekend reformatting, reflashing,
trying out configuration & installing/uninstalling stuff.
Am looking at this more as a potential dev machine teaching tool in
upper grade levels &

Nice summary of many of the problem
Object Chooser sugar 0.95-2 (on XO-1.5 screen)
Selecting 'OLPC root' icon appears to give the same view as selecting
'Journal' icon.
Also a human factors difficulty - when there are more entries in Object
Chooser than will fit on one screen, the scroll bar at the right edge is
much too nar

Fedora/XO newbie here. Sorry if this is a FAQ -- I couldn't find a working
solution in the wiki.
'yum install man man-pages' installs 6.5 MB of man-db and man-pages packages,
but after the install there are no man pages. /usr[/local]/share/man/* are all
empty directories.

You didn't mention which OLPC OS version you were using.
It works for me on 11.3.1, here is what I did:
1. delete the %_excludedocs line in /etc/rpm/macros.imgcreate
2. yum install man
3. yum reinstall coreutils bash
4. man ls
The manual page is correctly displayed.

improvements.
