Re: squashfs module for ARM kernels

This is a good idea. We already have CONFIG_SQUASHFS=m on the XO-1 and XO-1.5 kernels. It won't be loaded unless needed by user-space, so it is low risk to add. Attached is a patch for XO-4. I wasn't able to figure out a patch for XO-1.75, because "make oldconfig" asked me far too many question

Thanks for your help on this problem. This is fixed in firmware now, and should be in the next release. The Open Firmware disk partition handler was reporting success despite the NTFS filesystem not being supported. This led the boot process to try to load from the partition without any filesyst

A big thank you to anyone who can test RC1, almost three months after XSCE 0.2 -- we now have big changes for all to try out with the imminent XSCE 0.3: * XSCE runs on XOs' brand new OLPC OS 13.1.0, thanks to XSCE's fast migration from Fedora 17 to 18 these past weeks * XSCE now runs on

squashfs module for ARM kernels

The 3.0 and 3.5 olpc ARM karnels do have any squashfs support. Could be activated as for the x86 kernels. We are trying to get an pan-XO Tinycore linux build that can be put in a stick and allow booting and customization of any XO model (like the now depreciated customization stick [1]). Squashf

Thanks, I was able to reproduce the symptom by following your guidance. The XO-4 recognises the partition type of 7, and decides to use an NTFS driver, but we have no driver, and we are not likely to write one at this stage. I have not yet found a way to solve the problem for the next release, bu
