Announcing a build of Tiny Core Linux for XO-1 and XO-1.5 based on
OLPC development build os303 (leading up to release 10.1.2).
I've found this useful for testing and diagnosis without touching the
internal NAND or SD storage.
Features:

Much better. Some suggestions attached. I've not fully tested these
suggestions, but I think they should

I do not mean to pollute the thread... :-)
but I just build version 02 of tinycore linux for the XO-1 (see announcement
here

So I was wondering if there
After a week-long scary crash of the hosting server of TinyCore for the XO-1,
is up and running again.
Just in time for a new version, tc-xo_01
__What's new__
- Based on TinyCore 2.9
- The builds are utilizing new and modified tcz extensions (marked "_xo").
There are no new/modified binary blob
Just to point out that with pgf's help, a tinycore extension (tx-xo-pm.tzc)
that provides power-management for the XO-1 as well as dimming/volume keyboard
control is available here

It _is_ a module size 663kb
Many distributions, including SoaS I believe, is using it.

With help from JC (quozl) and on his "request" I have uploaded 3 scripts that
will build Tiny Core on an XO-1 that is running a squashfs-enabled olpc kernel.
I have also uploaded kernel rpms and srpms as well as the 3 different fs
modules (squashfs, aufs and hfsplus - for my iPod ;) by themselve

Despite better advice :-) I still believe that a highly (and very easily
customized) modular system is very appropriate for the multitude of
permutations that global (or even a single school) education requires.
So thanks to helpful comments from pgf and JC (quozl), I made a new

Apologies for the delay ... I'd decided to wait for my next Saturday
before spending more time on Tiny Core, because it is a side project for
me. The root shell was all I needed at work.
I tried compiling the kernel using tar-pkg, but the size of the kernel
and modules was huge compared to the pr

Announcing a build of Tiny Core Linux for XO-1 and XO-1.5 based on
OLPC build 802 and os108.
I've found this useful for testing and diagnosis without touching the
internal NAND or SD storage.
Features:
- based on Tiny Core Linux 2.8 microcore variant, configured for a
