Oh my! They sure are. But we have 24² options there.

I agree -- keeping the scheme we have, and given the constraints, the
leading 2 chars are the most viable option.

OpenFirmware can take longer names, it's just the FAT filesystem that
can't,

Hi,
we are seeing here quite a lot of hangs when using os4. Easily reproducible with
Browse. Might have been introduced by the new video driver...?
Regards,
Simon
PS: there seem to be some 'redraw-corruptions' after mouse movement as well

You couldn't put the model number into the file? Rather than
a cryptic a or i, how about 1, 1.5, or 1.75? Teachers and kids
aren't going to know who designed the processor inside their laptop.

The version logic is indeed present for all signed files (fs.zip bootfw.zip,
...) in newer XO firmware builds. That is to say - if no fs.zip or similar
file without a digit is found, each platform will then look for an fs#.zip
file with the appropriate digit. Older XO-1 and XO-1.5 firmware build

I have another silly request. For those of us testing on multiple
platforms, the download file names for both the 1.75 and 1.5 image are now
the same: i.e.: os4.zd4. It would be nice to be able to differentiate
between the two, as in the easy way it was for uim/onu for XO-1 vs zd4/zsp
for XO 1.5
XO-1.75 B1 users should note the discontinuity, that the version they
should test after os42, is os4.

XO-1.75 support has been added. Woohoo!
By bringing XO-1.75 into 11.3.0 and with some related efforts, loads
of stuff has got fixed.
Peter Robinson has full release notes, he'll post them later.
