Besides experimenting, my main plan for milkymist-ng is to use it in the video mixer, which will not need a PFPU or TMU. It will have a picture scaling core that has some in common with a TMU, though it is much simpler.
The picture scaler will be in Migen using the dataflow system, and the same should be used if one wants to design a TMU.
