a great deal more to "undo" the Makefile consolidation. I worked on
it for a couple of hours and finally just gave up.

I just implemented the --debug option to orterun (mpirun) on the trunk
as described here:

Hence, if you:
mpirun --debug ...
It will now search a list of available debuggers, and try to find them
in your PATH. ort
